This version of varioShore TPU is uniquely suited for printing prostheses and orthotics. The formulation includes silver, which is known to have beneficial properties for prosthetic and orthotic applications.

VarioShore TPU Prosthetic has a few main characteristics: its variable shore hardness, reduced weight and density and soft touch. The varioShore TPU Prosthetic allows users to vary the density of the material by adjusting temperature and material flow (speed and layer height). At temperatures between 200 and 250C, the materials will begin to expand to approx. 1.4-1.6 times its original volume, reducing the density to 0.7 to 0.9 g/cm³. This means that the material can be printed at low flow rates (60-70%), to compensate for the active foam formation, which in turn produces very soft printed parts.

VarioShore TPU Prosthetic was developed in collaboration with Lubrizol and is a material that is ideally suited for printing prosthetic and orthotic parts.

Please note that the color may change depending on the amount of foaming. The color becomes lighter when the material is in the maximum foamed state as opposed to the non-foamed state, which shows a deeper and richer color.

Cooling fan

Use the lowest cooling amount when maximum foaming is required. Use 50-100% cooling for better overhang performance.
