2kg - PBT+ - 3DE Premium - Pirate Black - 1.75mm

2kg PBT+ (polybutylene terephthalate) provides many of the same properties as Nylon, but absorbs less moisture (humidity) than Nylon, allowing PBT+ to maintain its shape in wet environments.

PBT+ is often used as a substitute for Nylon 6.6 or 6.12 and has better wear resistance than polypropylene or polystyrene. PBT has good mechanical properties in relation to stretching, twisting and bending (good "bend recovery"). PBT is good against solvents, 

PBT+ has a high UV resistance

Note that PBT contains fibers that wear your nozzle. We therefore recommend a ruby, steel, hardened steel or titanium nozzle. See our large selection of 3DSUPREME nozzles here.

3D The expert recommends print temp on this type to 235C hotend/ 65C please with e.g. PrintaFix or 3DSUPREME Adhesive Lim.

PBT+ has a heat resistance of up to 120C and can be advantageously used for 3d printed items that are used for casting in e.g. PUR or anything that needs heat.

PBT is relatively easy to print with when you see the advantages you get.

1. Good chemical resistance
2. High Heat counter tooth (120C)
3. Blend - but easily returns to original shape
4. Good mechanical properties 
5. Very reminiscent of Nylon - but with some advantages
6. Shrinks very little (below 1%)
7. Does not absorb moisture such as e.g. Nylon
8. PBT+ has a high UV resistance
